Bravo to the Best Camp Ever.  We had such great feedback from everyone who visited/rocked with us this year.

We created a more comprehensive list of everything we have/wanted as we packed up in the most organized way ever. This year we threw out stuff we didn't use, reduced the number of logs, and labeled/organized every bin in the container.  Logs, futons, hammock fabric, & bikes are at the back of the container, while the bar, supply bins, and rugs are closer to the door. Here's the updated version of what we got:

Have

23 small logs (down from 40, originally)

Rope

    -big hemp rope (12)

-big white rope- guy lines (6) -- attached to 42' log

-long cables- guy lines (6) -- attached to 42' log

-boxes of white polypropalene twine -- trashed them because they sucked!

-2 boxes of random sized rope

Hammocks

    -hammock fabric

    -hanging ropes

    -bolts of unused fabric (6)

Bike racks

    -4, broken down

Trellis- 3 piece

Solar lights (30ish)

Folding tables; 3 big, 2 small

Many extension cords

2 rope lights- could use more

Riot Helmets (6ish)

Straw Hats (6ish)

Tools- some hand, circular saw

Round cafe tables (3)

Electric and manual mattress pumps (1 of each)

Slinky's (2)

Goggles (3)

Ringpops (1 box)

Sparklers (1 box)

Shart funnel (1)

Betty Burns' "flower" stems & lights

Electric shower pump

Industrial shower-able super-sprayers (3)

Jumper cables

Buckets (3)

Lanterns (3 propane, 3 lamp oil)

Kitchen/Bar

-Cups: mugs (6), plastic cups (8), disposable (20), goblets (2)

     -Shot glasses (3)

     -Pots (2)

     -Frying pan (1)

     -Stoves (2)

     -Silverware (metal, 2 full sets)

     -Chopping knives (3)

     -Ceramic dishware (4-6)

     -Large salad bowls (2)

     -Plastic utensils

     -Paper plates (15)

     -Snack trays (6-8)

     -Hand-crank blender

     -Spray bottles (7)

     -Baby wipes (2)

     -Coolers (1 med-for drinks, 1 small-for ice)

-Three Trash cans (they have extention cords etc. in them, but we should use them during the event.)

Need for 2009:

Art car/mobile karaoke club

Generator/power set up so we have 24hr power

Laminating machine

Permits

Gas lantern mantles: Northstar #2000-043R, 433 Northstar, #R132-043C

Small Coleman propane tanks

Risers for shade structures so Pauls don't hit heads

Well-labeled trash system

Flat-pack chairs & cushions, www.playatech.com

Bike parts to fix bikes in container (tubes, patch kits)

Something to cover holes in the ground (we threw away bike rims)

Chef's rubber spatula for cleaning grossness

Hella Tang (6 big ones)

Bailey's

Mixers

Cheese & chips

Empty milk crates for stacking/displaying kitchen stuff, personal cubbies

Cinder blocks to possibly heighten structure for Pauls' heads

Additional ropelights for perimeter

Rake for moop

shopvac for carpets

Chopsticks (for eating, cleaning, drying racks)

3-min seminars

Magnets for cup/plate/etc. organization

More latex gloves for cleaning/work

Maybe just 2 handles/person next year?

Printouts of strategy/planning lists

Crane & hole driller "reservations" ahead of time

Theme camp registration

Kitchen Organization Czar

Don't Bring:

Extension cords

Glow Sticks

Glass beer bottles

Seeded watermelons (go seedless!)

To Ponder:

Cool "party naked"-esque signage for bar (suggested name "Red Carpet Karaoke")

Design concept for karaoke bar (red carpet theme, tiki theme, celebrity theme - any thoughts?)

Flashing light or strobe that we can set off whenever we applaud people

Dedicated ice cooler system (i.e. one high quality cooler ONLY FOR ICE that no one goes into for any other reason - reduce ice runs)

Lighting strategy for inside hammock hangout

More well/artfully-defined GreH2O system

Making h.h. an on-playa art installation

Better lighting in shade areas & kitchen

Lighting strategy for bar/rope lights for ground

Well-defined Karaoke station set-up/area.  stage?

Unload stuff out of tubs & put on shelves in kitchen

Cubbies for each camp member with pull-down shades/tarp for dust

Magnet station on the wall for each camper: plate, cup, silverware, bowl magneted to container wall

Better wind shield for kitchen to keep dust down: set up inside of 10x10' tent?

Department heads?

Here is a list of what we already have waiting for us in the container (in the desert RIGHT NOW), a list of what we wished we had last year, who is coming, who we want to come, who needs a ride, etc. Please feel free to change & add whatever you want to this page, you have the power.

You are by no means obligated to do jack shit BUT are welcome to sign-up for tasks or add anything that comes to mind.  I, for one, like to organize kitchens and make lists. What we mostly need is HAMMOCKS,  booze (ideally 3 handles of liquor person, for the bar), and rides for O.T.P. and Paul De Jong out to the desert.

NEED (to get)

(-1 engine jack to hold up log while setting up and preparing it for storage.---I will rig something with the car, since I will only need this before everyone else arrives!--Paul)

(-1 hand truck to help move short logs---I have one, a second one would be great, but not crytical--Paul)

(-1 hammock per person: How to Make an Instant Hammock---I have a ton of fabric, still bring one if you have it, but not as important--Paul)

-3 handles of liquor per person, preferably top-shelf (for the bar)

-a few bottles mixers per person (for the bar)

-seedless watermelon

I'm planning to drive up in my Toyota from LA .. for one thing I am open to taking a rider there, back, or both. It would be a zippy ride with a hell of a lot of music in a fuel efficient car. I'll be going roughly Saturday to Sunday. This will be my 4th playa but the first time driving myself in my little car.

Also I have this big ass blue carpet remnant I'd like to donate to the camp. I could maybe fit it in my backseat ...but then I might not have room for living supplies. Is it safe or even possible to bungee to the roof?? Wondering if anyone may have room for it?

The other thing is, does anyone have room for a bike?

Cool, keep me updated. Spyder and Space Brother may be able to bring my bike depending on what kind og bike rack they get. He's also looking to sell the bike rack from last year that fits on an SUV with the rear tire. In case anyone needs one of those...
